Ohio Farmers Union is a nonpartisan, grassroots, general farm organization representing more than 300,000 family farmers nationwide. Our members are farmers, rural residents, and consumers. We join to develop a comprehensive program for rural America and to do the things together that no individual can do alone.
We provide our members with information, education, cooperation, and legislative representation. OFU strives to sustain and strengthen a family farm structure of agriculture.
Ohio Farmers Union gives members the opportunity to make a difference by participating in state meetings to draft the policy statements that guide the direction of our organization.

Ohio Farmers Union Vision Statement
Ohio Farmers Union is an organization of farmers, rural community members and consumers who share a deep commitment to maintaining family farm agriculture. We believe that a network of family-based, moderately-scaled farms can most economically, socially and environmentally responsibly provide the food, fiber and energy our nation needs, while fostering healthy rural communities and a broad, diverse national economy. Toward this goal, we focus our efforts in the three principle basic mission areas of: legislative, grassroots advocacy; adult and youth education, and rural community development.
We also support our members by providing an array of member services and benefits, including insurance (the premium savings alone of which can more than offset the cost of membership); our own monthly, statewide newspaper “Ohio Country Messenger," and cooperative development services all across the state.
Ohio Farmers Union strives for excellence in the field of customer service. In this day of modern technology, we realize the importance of sustaining one-on-one communications with our members. We make every effort to constantly evaluate and improve our services and products, react quickly to organizational and member needs, uphold our professionalism and to exceed our members' expectations. Our staff assures continued teamwork and unity for efficiency, in addition to constantly treating each and every member with respect and dignity.
