Ohio Farmers Union (OFU) will educate young people about being good stewards of the land in the 2009 Cooperative Youth Day Camps to be held this July across Ohio. The camp program is free and open to the general public as well as OFU young people.
OFU will offer educational activities that teach campers about living sustainably; the value of reducing, reusing and recycling; and the need for conservation and efficiency. Activities and games will also focus on renewable energy and lessons about where our food comes from.
The Ohio Farmers Union Family Farm Center, Inc. (OFUFFC) and the Miller-Warner Foundation, Inc. (MWF) today invite youth to enter the 2009 Photography Scholarship Contest for Young People by submitting photos that best represent country life in Ohio. For complete rules, click here.
Natalie Kee has been named legislative director for Ohio Farmers Union (OFU). She will work out of the family farm organization's Columbus office across from the Statehouse and will be responsible for representing OFU with state government leaders. Kee will be coordinating policy efforts on behalf of OFU members and work to develop and implement legislative agenda.
