Oppose Korean Free Trade Deal says NFU
As our nation focuses on a tremendous deficit situation and the reauthorization of the farm bill in 2012, it is clear that the KORUS agreement and its negative impacts is not the right direction. Please contact your Representative today and urge them to demonstrate their support for rural America, farmers and ranchers, and solid fiscal decisions by voting no on KORUS.
The Ohio Farmers Union encourages you to take action and let Congress know this is a bad deal for family farms.
NFU President Johnson testifies before Congress on pending Free Trade Agreements
WASHINGTON (May 12, 2011) – National Farmers Union (NFU) President Roger Johnson testified before the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Agriculture on the pending free trade agreements (FTAs) with Korea, Colombia, and Panama.
NFU has historically opposed free trade agreements on the basis that the agreements were more likely to increase imports rather than open new markets to U.S. goods, as claimed by proponents. Vague promises of “market access” have been too often empty and factually inaccurate.
