Kids Compete to Win U.S. Savings Bonds
OTTAWA – Ohio Farmers Union kids are encouraged to exercise their creativity in the 2012 Poster Contest.
The theme of this year’s contest is “Alternative Energy Helping Our Environment.” Entries must be postmarked by December 31, 2011.
Contestants will compete in one of three categories:
- Division I: Grades 1 and 2
- Division II: Grades 3 and 4
- Division III: Grades 5 and 6
Posters must be produced on OFU poster stock. To receive poster stock, contact your local Ohio Farmers Union chapter or the OFU state office at 800-321-3671. Posters must be solely the work of the student and may be created in any medium including crayons, markers, pencils and collage.
Posters may be submitted to your local OFU chapter or mailed to the Ohio Farmers Union, P.O. Box 363, Ottawa, Ohio 45875.
Posters will be judged on originality, creativity, neatness, subjectivity and overall effect. Judging will occur at the OFU Annual Convention over the weekend of January 27-28, 2012. Winners will be announced at the convention.
First place in each division will be awarded a $75 U.S. Savings Bond and second place in each division will be awarded a $50 U.S. Savings Bond.
